Niki was founded in 2003 by  Air Berlin and  Air Berlin PLC & Co. Luftverkehrs KG in Austria. Niki’s headquarters are currently located in Schwechat and the main base in Vienna International Airport. Niki is not a star alliance member. Oliver Lackmann leads the company as the CEO.

It has declared $ 403,000,000 in revenue. Niki offers service in 36 countries.
