Aeroflot was founded in 1923 by Aeroflot in Russia. Aeroflot’s headquarters are currently located in Moscow and the main base in Sheremetyevo International Airport. Aeroflot is not a star alliance member. The company has won the Skytrax awards Best Airline in Eastern Europe, Best Premium Economy Class Onboard Catering, Best Cabin Crew in Russia and Best Business Class in Eastern Europe. Vitaly Savelyev  leads the company as the CEO. Its subsidiaries include Pobeda, Rossiya Airlines, Aurora Airlines and Dobrolet.

It has declared $ 7,890,000,000 in revenue. Aeroflot offers service to 131 destinations in 50 countries and they have carried more than 32.8 million  passengers in 2017. St. Petersburg-Moscow,Moscow-Novgorod,Volgograd-Moscow,Moscow-Yekaterinburg,Moscow-Ufa are some of the main flight destinations.
